Theatre Trips

Ian Hall organised many trips to theatres across the North of England for over 30 years. This was a well established tradition with Easingwold Players members and the general public alike joining Ian on these trips. From Shakespeare to big hit musicals there has been a wide variety for everyone.

Ian hand-selected productions that would ensure quality in performance, quality in production, and quality in all-round enjoyment, whether it be a serious drama like Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible” (2014), and musicals too many to mention. The ones which stood out for him have included Les Miserables, Mamma Mia, (four times), My Fair Lady, (three times), Singing in the Rain, Miss Saigon complete with helicopter, Kiss Me Kate, Sound of Music, Oliver, who can forget the superb production at the Leeds Playhouse, last Christmas. Also Blood Brothers, and excellent productions, about three a year, at the Theatre In the Round at Scarborough.

Ian made sure that we saw many and varied shows, shows that made us laugh, shows that made us cry, and shows that would suit our selective Easingwold audiences.

Trips were exceptionally well-organised and the coach trip was always part of the social!

Ian has decided it is time to call it a day and whilst he has already thanked everyone for their support, all of us at Easingwold Players thank Ian from the bottom of our hearts for his dedication and for sharing his passion for the theatre with so many of us over the years. Thank you Ian Hall, you are our star of the show!
