An Update from Ian

It seems a long time since we saw our last live theatre production at the Leeds Grand Theatre on March 5th last year and the excellent “Cabaret”, little did we realise it would be our last theatre visit for, well, even a return date is unknown at the moment, but I think we have to be positive for the future, and this has been reflected in theatre’s booking shows for 2021.

I have the dates, we have to wait until the theatre receives confirmation that the touring company is geared up for production plans, rehearsals, and ready to start on the road again!

So, what have I booked for?

Yes, all arranged under the auspices of the Easingwold Players, usual excellent seats, perfect sightlines, big group discounts in the front stalls and dress circle, and the usual door to door service by Morse coaches with our ace driver, Shaun.

Leave your car in the Market Place, hop on the coach, settle down for a relaxing drive, maybe you have brought some tea along to snack en route, some even bring along a glass of wine to start the day in the right frame of mind, and the buzz of conversation starts.

Bradford Alhambra are the most pro-active in arranging touring shows, first, on October 14th/’21 there are 80 seats booked for the sexiest musical ever, “Chicago”, set amidst the razzle-dazzle of the 1920’s decadence, complete with choreography by the legendary Bob Fosse.

This show are only the start, what happens next? I will let you know of full details of new shows that I have booked...oh, I presume you are on my mailing list to be kept up to date regarding future theatre trips...if not, simple, just telephone me on 01347 822180, or email me,

lizianapplegarth@gmail.com and the job is done, email contacts are the easiest to administer.

Let’s be positive, 2021 WILL BE BETTER, and we can all look forward to seeing shows at the Leeds Grand Theatre, Leeds Playhouse after its eight million pound refurbishment, Bradford Alhambra, Sunderland Empire, and the lovely Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough our two annual trips there per year are always popular, complete with a beautiful journey through the idyllic North Yorkshire countryside.

To say I have missed our theatre visits over the last year is a complete understatement, the number of times I have seen fellow theatre-goers in Easingwold who have echoed my sentiments, reliving the excitement of a live show, dropped off outside the theatre, a drink....or two, no one is driving..and taking our seats as an air of expectancy starts as the conductor raises his baton and the show starts.

I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE GREAT SHOWS AGAIN, SO SEE YOU AT THE BAR!

Kind regards to everyone,

Ian Hall.
