Chicago - Theatre Trip

Set amidst the dazzle dazzle decadence of the 1920s, “CHICAGO”, the sexiest musical ever, is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloids.

Created by the musical theatre talents of John Kander and Fred Ebb, and legendary choreographer Bob Fosse, CHICAGO’S  sexy, sassy score includes the show-stopping songs ‘Razzle Dazzle’, ‘Cell Block Tango’, and ‘All That Jazz’. Winner of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards, and a Grammy, this show holds the record for the longest-running American musical in Broadway and West End history. Opening in New York in 1996, the show has played in 36 countries worldwide, and seen by 33 million people, grossing over $1.7 billion.

And when can theatre-goers from Easingwold see it?

A long way off, when the Covid virus has gone, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14TH, 7:30 PM. at the Bradford Alhambra, excellent seats in the front stalls rows E, F, and G, and in the dress circle rows B to F. I have 30 and 60 booked respectively.

And an excellent reduction in seat prices for this show, full price for these seats is £50, but a seniors concession is available so the price is £26, that applies to everyone on the trip and an offer that is a 50% reduction!

Coaches leaving Easingwold at 5:15 pm. and the cost is £10 each, payable on the night, and the usual pick up in Stillington at 4:45 pm., Stillington Oaks just after that.
